John Stevenson MP for Carlisle will be chairing a roundtable event in Carlisle regarding psoriasis and other skin conditions which has been supported by AbbVie.
The aim of the meeting is to find a way for medical staff to work together from diagnosis to treatment. Discussion will also centre on how Carlisle can improve the outcome for people with psoriasis.
Psoriasis is a long-lasting autoimmune disease characterized by patches of abnormal skin. These skin patches are typically red, itchy, and scaly. They may vary in severity from small and localized to complete body coverage.
John said ‘Almost 1000 people in the Carlisle constituency have psoriasis. Given this high figure, it is important that appropriate diagnostic and treatment services are in place so that suffers of this condition are given the best possible outcomes to manage their condition.
We have a number of skin condition experts attending the event which I hope will lead to better services locally for those suffering from psoriasis and other skin conditions in the Carlisle area.’
The event will be held in the Crown and Mitre Hotel and John Stevenson MP will be available for comment after 3pm.
