John Stevenson, the MP for Carlisle, is supporting the High Sheriff of Cumbria’s Covid-19 Business Innovation and Community Awards, which aims to recognise the incredible ways businesses across Cumbria have confronted the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The judges of the awards are looking for businesses who have adapted their business model, found innovative ways to protect and support their workforce and those who have worked creatively to drive footfall or to retain customer loyalty throughout the pandemic. The judges are also looking for businesses who have actively supported others in the community through acts of kindness or fundraising.
In addition to special performance certificates being awarded to nominees, there will also be three outstanding award category prizes. These are the Micro Business Innovation Award, the Small to Medium Business Innovation Award and the Community-Spirited Business Award.
John Stevenson said: “This is an excellent opportunity to thank and give recognition to local businesses who have been faced with challenges and shown great resilience over the last 10 months. Please do nominate any local businesses, who you think deserve to receive recognition from the High Sheriff of Cumbria”.
The closing date for nominations is 24th February 2021 and further information on how to nominate a business in Cumbria can be found here: https://www.highsheriffofcumbria.co.uk/contact-high-sheriff/
