Carlisle MP John Stevenson “Carlisle and Cumbria very much open for business” this English Tourism Week.
In celebration of EnglishTourismWeek21, John Stevenson MP for Carlisle was delighted to participate in a meeting at Carlisle Cathedral, which included tourism businesses from across Carlisle.
John Stevenson said “Whilst it’s undoubtedly been a difficult 14 months for the sector, it was great to see such positivity and determination for the future. It is evident that working collaboratively is key to putting Carlisle firmly on the map. I will continue to listen to businesses about the challenges they face in reopening to visitors and in planning for the future ahead and I will continue to represent their views and champion the sector in Westminster.”
The businesses represented included Carlisle Cathedral, Tullie House, Avanti West Coast, Carlisle Castle, Tranquil Otter Self Catering, Halston Hotel, Carlisle and Eden Council, Cumbria Tourism and the University of Cumbria.
“Thank you to Gill Haigh and Jim Walker from Cumbra Tourism for organising the event. What was absolutely clear is that Carlisle and Cumbria are very much open for business!”
