John Stevenson MP recognises the success of school children across Cumbria involved in the Bright Stars 2021 ‘make a difference campaign’.
Almost 50 primary schools across Cumbria, including six in the Carlisle area, are celebrating the success of their ‘make a difference’ campaigns in the Bright Stars 2021 competition organised by the Centre for Leadership Performance.
The Bright Stars’ bright ideas include ways to combat loneliness, making kindness ‘contagious’ and creating tasty ‘souper soups’. The school children who set up and ran their own businesses for eight weeks with the help of local companies and organisations will be hoping that their campaigns will be among the winners at the virtual online Bright Stars celebration event being held this Thursday.
Carlisle MP John Stevenson, said ‘It’s been two months since I first spoke to the children involved at the start of the programme and I am pleased to see some of the campaigns that have come forward. Bright Stars is an excellent initiative and one which I fully support. It is a real opportunity for the children involved to experience something very different and learn about such things as leadership and business which will help them in the future. Well done to all schools who have backed the initiative and all the children who have taken part. In my book, everyone’s a winner!
