Carlisle MP, John Stevenson, recently met with Transport for the North, the organisation established to improve infrastructure in the North of England in order to encourage economic growth.
John said:
“It is vital for the success of Carlisle that there is proper connectivity throughout the North of England. This can only be done if strategy and funding decisions are made using knowledge from local people who know the area best.
“My meeting with Transport for the North was very useful, as I was able to continue to put my case forward for improvements to be made to the A595 and the A69.
“As I have argued for many years now, it is vital that our main transport routes receive the necessary investment to connect us to the wider area.”
