Today’s Parliamentary export programme webinar ‘Expand your business; Export to new, fast growing markets’ was hosted by John Stevenson MP for Carlisle alongside representatives from the Department for International Trade.
This was the second of three events which focussed on the support and help available from Government to assist businesses to successfully find new international markets and customers. The Department for International Trade (North West) can offer a package of support to businesses to allow this to happen, which includes grant funding subject to meeting a set criteria, ecommerce and training and skills development. Help is also available to undertake tailor made export plans. The last of the three webinars will be held in early Autumn – full details to follow.
John Stevenson said “It was a pleasure to host the Parliamentary Export Programme webinar this morning and it was particularly good to see so many Cumbrian businesses present. Whilst post Brexit and pandemic we are seeing some challenges, we are also looking at great opportunities. New, and expanding markets, in particular across Latin America, Africa and Asia. As the MP for Carlisle and alongside my colleague Mark Jenkinson, MP for Workington, we want North Cumbrian businesses to be able to take every advantage of new opportunities and emerging trade deals as they come our way. I would encourage any businesses interested in expanding their markets internationally to contact the Department for International Trade North West.
