John Stevenson, MP for Carlisle has backed a national campaign ahead of Thank You Day, due to take place this Sunday 4th July.
Thank You Day was originally an idea started by 13 individuals across the UK, and has now been backed by organisations such as the NHS, Royal Voluntary Service, the Scout Association, national newspapers, UK Music
and UK Sport. Intended as a day to say thank you to all those who deserve thanks and to celebrate the spirit that has got us through this pandemic so far.
John said, ‘There are so many great examples of residents, community groups and organisations across Carlisle that have gone the extra mile over the last fourteen months. From all the volunteers across North Cumbria supporting the vaccination rollout, to groups like the 1st Wetheral Brownies carrying out their litter picks, to individuals just checking in on their neighbours, there are many to say thank you to, and there is much to celebrate. Well done and thank you to you all.’
