John Stevenson, MP for Carlisle, has expressed his delight at the success of last week’s Carlisle Skills Fair, held at Carlisle College.
Speaking after the event, John said, “It was fantastic to see such a high turnout at the Skills Fair. With nearly 70 local businesses and training providers attending, as well as hundreds of people coming through the door, there was a real buzz on the day and a very welcome air of optimism about the future.
I would like to thank Carlisle College and all our local employers and training providers for taking the time to showcase their fantastic opportunities. I’d also like to wish all those who attended every success in their applications and the best of the luck for the future.”
Anthony Mansfield, Persimmon’s Managing Director for the region said: “It was great to meet so many young people interested in the wide range of careers that construction offers. We’re proud to work in partnership with Carlisle College and as a Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer, we’re always keen to engage with young people and help them understand the variety of training and learning opportunities available to them. We’d like to thank John Stevenson MP and the College for their hard work in organising such a fantastic event.”
