John Stevenson MP will be hosting the annual Carlisle Skills Fair on Thursday 26th January 2017 from 2-7pm. The event brings together local training providers, employers and careers advisors.
Carlisle Skills Fair gives both young people and jobseekers the chance to find out what choices are available to them and the opportunity to discuss their options with advisors.
Many training providers and local businesses from a wide range of sectors have confirmed their attendance to this year’s event.
The following companies are sponsoring Carlisle Skills Fair:
Carlisle City Council, Carlisle College, CITB, Disability Confident, Gen2, Inspira, JTL, Learn Direct, Liberty Work and Leisure, McVitie’s, News and Star, Newton Rigg College, RWP Training Ltd, Sellafield Ltd, SP Training, Story Homes, TCV, Training 2000, University of Cumbria
John said:
“I want Carlisle Skills Fair to show Carlisle’s future workforce that they don’t have to leave the area to gain good qualifications or get a good job.
“We need bright and talented people who are taking their first steps towards careers and people who are already of working age to stay in Carlisle. If they have something to offer Carlisle’s economy, then we need to show them that Carlisle’s economy has something to offer them in return.
“I am confident that Carlisle Skills Fair will help to achieve this, given the tremendous level of commitment training providers and local businesses have shown through their support and attendance, this year and in previous years.”
