MP for Carlisle John Stevenson is visiting Newman Catholic School on Friday 10th December.

 

John will be meeting with the head, Mr John McAuley to gain an insight into school life at Newman and to discuss any issues which the school currently face.

 

Since being elected, John has visited Trinity, Austin Friars and performed the Topping Out Ceremony at Richard Rose Morton Academy. In the New Year he plans to visit Caldew School and Richard Rose Central Academy.

 

John said ‘It is important that I visit the schools in my constituency. It is interesting to hear the views of the next generation and to also discuss any issues which schools may have.

 

Education is an integral part of our society and I am pleased that the standard is rising across the city.’

 

John will be awarding the prizes to pupils at Newman Catholic School on 16th December at their Prize Giving Evening.
