Member of Parliament for Carlisle John Stevenson has called on the local council to take a pro-active role in helping local business recover from the recent recession and develop further in the future.
Member of Parliament for Carlisle, John Stevenson, is opening the Wetheral Fete on 3rd July. The annual Fete takes place each year in the village of Wetheral and attracts many families and local residents with their wide variety of stalls and games.
Last year John Stevenson Member of Parliament for Carlisle made a pledge that if he was elected as an MP, he would cycle from Carlisle to Westminster. Now John is to fulfil that pledge. In the autumn, John intends to take 5 days to cycle the 400 mile route.
The new Government is committed to greater financial transparency in government both nationally and locally. The Coalition Government believes by doing this, government will become far more efficient and careful about its expenditure.
